
TSVETAN MOMCHILOV
Tsvetan Momchilov is a musician, pianist and French horn player, and composer born in Varna (Bulgaria). He graduated from the National School of Arts“Dobri Hristov” in Varna, and received his Bachelor's degree from the National Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, majoring in French horn playing.
His international career includes concerts and performances in Sweden, Spain, Germany, the USA, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia as well as in Bulgaria. He has played at many Bulgarian orchestras as a French horn player, including two years at the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the National Radio Orchestra in Sofia, Sofia Opera and Ballet, the Philharmonic Orchestras in Varna, Rousse and Plovdiv, overseas orchestras like Summerville Orchestra (USA) and others. He toured with the orchestras across Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA, etc.
In the field of jazz, he is a pianist in the band JazzProfilactika, with whom he signed a contract with the Greek label Timewarp Music in 2017 and released the album Tick Tock. In 2020, they released Ah Yeah! The Funky EP for the same label. This album ranked first on Junodownload in the Broken Beat category and third in the Funk category.
He has collaborated with many artists like vocalist Dean Bowman (USA), vocalist Alexandrina Simeon (Germany), drummer Dimitar Semov (Bulgaria), clarinet/saxophone player Stoyan Royanov (Bulgaria), guitarist Chavdar Gochev (Bulgaria) and others.
He is the author of the music for the performances – Six Love Songs choreography concert by Zhana Pencheva. dragON aka PONY, dragON aka Phoenix and dragON Forever by Aleksandar Georgiev, Zhana Pencheva and Dario Damas. Dance Baby Dance and Garden by Zhana Pencheva, and many others.


Tsvetan was part of the festivals: Antistatic– International festival for contemporary dance and performance, ACT – independent theatre festival, Plovdiv Jazz Fest in the accompanying program of JAZZTRONICA, Trizavisim Festival, Moving Body festival, Varna Summer Festival, Balchik Jazz Nights, Varna Jazz Days Festival, WATER – contemporary art festival, Buna, A toJazZ, RADAR Festival Beyond Music, The Quarantine Film Festival, Varusha South, Wake Up! Experiment №∞ and others
He composed the music for the performance “The Power of S” by Alexander Georgiev, which won the ICAR Award 2022 in the category of Contemporary Dance and Performance.
